1. We have four more rehearsals before the dress rehearsal. In order to make the most of the time, please make sure you have transferred Chris’s markings to your own score, and that you know which line you are singing at all times in each piece. If you still have notes of which you are unsure, take the time to privately work these out, so that Tuesday evenings can be primarily devoted to polishing the ensemble.
2. We will be using black folders for this concert. See me if you need a loaned college folder. Helpful hint: it would be a good idea to start practicing using the scores in the folder.
3. There are 2 wonderful concerts coming up:
On Monday, April 8th at 7:30 pm in the DCPC Sanctuary, Organ at Davidson presents Charlotte's The Choir School of St. Peter's Episcopal. Ms. Elizabeth Lenti, Artistic Director, and Mr. Garret Law, Assistant Director, will offer a varied program of organ music, and the MasterSingers will sing both sacred and secular music, including works by John Rutter, Josef Rheinberger, Henry Balfour Gardiner and Keith Hampton. This concert is free, with donations gratefully accepted.
On Friday, April 12th, at 5 pm, also in the DCPC Sanctuary, come hear the Davidson College Chorale in their spring concert, Elemental!—a paean to fire, water, air, and earth. Feast your ears on this choral sonic tapestry representing all the elements of the Earth. This concert promises variety and fun that will be both cool and hot. Don’t miss it! This concert is also free and open to the public.
4. On Sunday, April 14th, at 3 pm in Duke Family Performance Hall, WDAV will present the finalists in the Young Chamber Musicians Competition. Each year WDAV brings four of the top young chamber music ensembles in the country to compete for the top prize in their division. I HAVE TWO (2) FREE TICKETS TO THIS EVENT-first come first served!
